
Welcome to A Taste of Galloway. We are a small farming business based in the heart of Dumfries and Galloway. We specialise in producing top quality Galloway beef from Pure Galloway Cattle, excellent Blackface cross lamb from Blackface ewes and delicious Mutton from Blackface ewes.
Galloway Cattle are one of the most renowned beef breed types due to their supreme meat quality. Naturally, the breed produces a meat of overwhelming flavour, juiciness and tenderness. The breed is a local, native, slow maturing type, bred to thrive in all elements on the beautiful hills of Dumfries and Galloway. The Scottish Blackface is a reputable breed for its hardiness and ability to thrive on rough hill terrain. Blackface lamb is renowned for its exquisite meat quality.

Our produce is very special because we emphasise on using native breeds, it is reared in its home land in its natural environment allowing it to grow and mature traditionally. Galloway cattle and Blackface sheep have been bred in Scotland for centuries with the aim of producing meat from what Scotland grows best grass! We feel that by using a native breed and rearing traditionally we can offer you something very special. Meat from an animal that tastes how it used to taste, how it should taste. Our livestock are reared to the highest welfare and husbandry standards to produce fine succulent, tasty Scottish meats. Butchered and processed locally by ourselves, matured for a minimum of 21 days, our beef is literally taken from farm to plate A real local treasure.
Purchasing locally or within Scotland reduces huge food miles, disease risk and encourages Scottish breeds to be preserved and encouraged to develop. You also know exactly where your meat has come from, and can relate the farmers and farm to your product. You can rest assured that as we rear, butcher and process all of our stock you know that we have supervised your product straight to preparation for plate.
