Saddleback Pigs
We rear Traditional British Saddleback Pigs on the farm. We were given 2 gilts as an engagement present – so, we had no choice but to breed with them.
Our pigs are free range and wallow outside in small paddocks around the farm, they sleep in pig arks. We feel that the pigs are happier being kept in this environment as they are allowed to “do what pigs do” mainly rummage about.
By keeping the pigs outside the pork and bacon we produce is second to none – we didn’t eat much pork before we kept our own pigs and can say with confidence that outdoor reared free range pork is in a league of its own in comparison to intensively farmed produce - the flavour and quality is second to none.
